ACTIVITY DETAILS
Midalidare Estate:
Midalidare is located in one of the famous wine regions in Bulgaria: Thracian lowlands.
The tour takes place in the large Eastern winery and details the technology of creating wines at Midalidare. The wine is born at the vineyards, so the journey begins from the "Library of Varieties", where young vines of the grape varieties presented at the winery are planted and carefully managed.
A part of the Wine tour is the Wine Museum. An ethnographic collection showing the pastoral life of the region's winemakers, coopers and carters is presented. The main part imitates a cave where the Museum tour ends with a humorous interactive game.
"The road of Sparkling Wine" leads you to the Sparkling wine winery. You will be introduced to the traditional sparkling winemaking, storage and ageing of sparkling wine and you will be able to observr the process of degorgement. The tour finishes at a specially designed dome screenings room where the visitors could watch a short video and taste the sparkling wines of Midalidare.
Plovdiv:
Once we arrive in Plovdiv, we would start our tour by visiting the city garden with the "singing fountains" lake. Then, we would walk through the longest pedestrian street in Bulgaria. We would pass through the ancient stadium of Philipoppolis, the statue of the Crazy Milyo and the regional mosque up to the bridge above the Maritsa river. We would then get back walking to the Kapana art district where you could find some handycraft workshops. We would recommend you to have a lunch in a restaurant in Kapana. Furthermore, we would continue to the old town - a nice walk through old-style houses with traditional Bulgarian architecture and cozy paved street. We shall visit the Roman stadium also known as "The Amphi-Theatre", the Hisar Kapia and the archielogical complex on Nebet Tepe hill from where a beatiful panoramic scene of Plovdiv would retrieve.
